Teak naturally has a warm honey/brown color than can appear to be polished due to the oil content of the wood. Left to age naturally outside your furniture's color will eventually fade to a gorgeous silvery-gray. You can prevent this from happening by using a teak protector annually. Or if you want to remove the gray patina you can give your furniture a good scrub with a teak cleaner and then treat it with the protector annually to maintain the natural warm honey color. We don't recommend painting your teak furniture because the high oil content prevents paint from adhering well, but if you decide you want to we suggest contacting a marine or boat store for ideas that will maintain the wood's strength, but supply you with the color you desire.
